The Cave of St. John the Hermit is situated near Marathokefala. It is richly decorated with many stalactites and stalagmites. This is where, according to the legend, St. John the Hermit lived for three years. He led an ascetic life in the nude for a long time in this part of the island.

The world famous beach and sea lagoon of Balos. A unique scenic beach, iconic location of Kissamos area visited by thousands of people each year. There are two ways to reach the top of the peninsula and this beautiful place. One is by a daily cruise boat from Kissamos port and the other is by car. If you choose to visit by car you will have to park it about 2 km far away from location and hike the rest of the distance. It may be more tiring but the view will compensate you. Make sure you bring lots of water with you, wear sunblock and bring your hats! An amazing experience! Totally recommended!

Afrata beach is a small romantic beach perfect for a quick swim and a snack at the nearby cafe next to the shore. Beautiful crystal clear water, beautiful location and a breathtaking view following the route on your way to the beach!
