The only reason I put this in is that it's the closet supermarket. I don't recommend it though, hard to find good stuff. Recommend the Hannaford on Forest Ave instead.

Lovely 3 mile walking trail around the back cove. Closed to motor traffic on Sundays, so it becomes a true pedestrian-friendly local destination. (Also, see Payson Park)

Take a short ferry over to some of the 365 "Calendar" Islands in Casco Bay. I recommend the Mail Boat ride to see all islands, but if you want to get off, go to Peaks!

Lovely opportunity to ride your bikes around the island: easy, 1 hour ride with plenty of picnic stops along the way. From the ferry stop, walk up to the main st and turn left to the bike rental shop.

There actually have 2 locations in Portland, both on Congress St so it's confusing. This one is closer to Art & Children's Museum, the other one is closer to the Eastern Prom. Also deliver.
