This is a gem. Fantastic Views. Great historical information boards. It all started here in 1814 on Christmas Day. Make sure you wear good walking shoes. Take a picnic

It's a bit of a drive, bearing right at the fork. You'll be on a gravel road for some of this, so need good tyres. It's an estuary entrance to a wild and beautiful beach.

Great Saturday Market. Lots of local produce and crafts and massage it's fab. Take cash for most places. Good food too.

This is where NZ began for the Pakeha. It's a great tour and the cafe behind the Mission House is lovely. Great spot for a picnic and a good walk to Rainbow Falls
