In Summer there are some stunning panoramic views from the top of the Feuerkogel plateau accessed by the cable car or hiking. In Winter the area is a skiing and snowboarding wonderland!

Generally a great area to view the Traunsee and surrounding mountains, often overlooking the numerous activities that occur lake side, such as kite surfers, sailing races, paddle boards and the like. In Summer it is a great bathing spot with a permanent water "park" - such as a water trampoline, climbing "iceberg", inflatables. There is also a large grassy area to play football, a sandy volley ball court and small area for kids to play, including a bouncy castle. Several cafes offer light bites and drinks. Best of all, its free!

Another lake that is stunning year round and warm to swim in during the Summer months. Like the Langbath lakes, Offensee is also around an hour to cycle to from the Rosenhof or just a 15 minute drive.

The Langbath lakes are a beautiful spot to cycle or stroll round, and can be cycled to from the Rosenhof in about an hour.

A lovely hamlet that is easy to cycle to for an ice cream and spectacular views of the mountains and lake. There are also interesting walks starting nearby to the Sonnstein and around the hamlet.

After around a 3-4 hour hike, or 2-3 hour cycle ride, from our door you can reach the show cave and peak of the Gasselkogel. It's well worth the effort for the fantastic views.

"Fetzenzug" - a carnival held over several days in mid/end February, one must see to believe!
"Krippenkultur" - nativity scenes displayed proudly in homes and guesthouses during Winter which are made up of intricately hand made pieces.
