Take a day trip to Salcombe to visit Overbecks, a spot of shopping and maybe an explore along the coastal path to Bolts Head. If it is lovely and hot you can take a dip at South Sands or one of the hidden coves. A nice day out for families, but busy in summer.

A beautiful bird reserve on the freshwater lake at the Ley. Take the board walk along the Ley towards the village. Watch out for peregrine falcons, and many water birds. The trail ends up in the pretty village of Slapton where you can take a pint at the Tower Inn.
