Our favorite sushi restaurant, always busy, and there is often a celebrity sighting to be had at this casual-upscale sushi restaurant. Although the atmosphere is very nice, the food is the real draw here. The salmon sushi is second-to-none, try the miso eggplant (nasu miso), ono sashimi, Hamapeno, etc. All of the sushi is excellent, but we also love the rib-eye entrée, which can be shared by two. Very consistently good food at Shin Taro. Not walking distance, take Uber/Lyft (corner of Franklin and Highland) $$$

Our fave for tapas and small plates, in the heart of Hollywood. Excellent cocktails. We would suggest taking the short Uber ride to get there. Awesome vibe, cool atmosphere. Ask to be seated on the back patio. $$$
