there are a few Out the Door locations in SF. very, very good Vietnamese food (my Vietnamese friends agree!). I prefer the Ferry Building location. Nothing like a little lunch and a view of the water and ships!

why not ride the muni to the beach and stop for crab and garlic noodles on the way home! you can stop off at Golden Gate Park along the way. by the way, SF beaches are cold (so bring a jacket!)

really, really nice Indonesian food. truly an SF gem (and almost always a very long wait so plan ahead if you want to go).

if you happen to be in Berkeley, this is the BEST chinese food in the whole world (opinion of our entire family and many of our Chinese friends!). sometimes, we BART just to eat here and prefer it to anything in SF Chinatown. go early, there will be a wait! we recommend the peking duck and the walnut prawns!
