This is a must-do for Sydney, as it is nested at the bottom west side of the Opera House. GREAT pub food, great everything. Really big, usually always find somewhere. OK for kids, avoid feed seagulls!

Where do I start? Catch an upriver ferry and in 10 minutes you're on The Island. Mega historic, plus it has food and bar(s). Allocate about 2 hours. Get ferry tickets at the shop: 133 Rountree street.

This is the Newsagent where you buy BUS and FERRY tickets. This is also the bus stop, if you are headed to the city (QVB). You feed the ticket into the machine on the bus, or the turnstyle (ferry).

We locals all rave about this cafe, it has the BEST food (thanks to Jason's mum) and awesome coffee. Opens 6am, (till 4pm) distance: 54 paces from my door! No kidding. Great breakfasts!!!

Superb pub food, book the restaurant for table service or walk up and order over the bar. Maureen has run this place for years, cleanest most consistent pub we've ever been to. Say hello to her from us (she is unmissable) and to Neil the Irish manager.
