This is a takeout recommendation. It's not super close, but well worth it if it fits into your plans. There's a great park out that way where you could take your food.

Drinks & Nightlife
A pretty wonderful bar that's usually crowded. They have events there sometimes and when they don't the backroom has basketball and ping pong. There's a restauraunt called the Whitfield too... not a huge fan.

They have a food menu, but we usually go for good cocktails and a local draft beer selection. Outdoor seating when it's nice too!

They still allow smoking... it's a staple of Pittsburgh and if you like dives, take the plunge. Their burgers are surprisingly good.

Cooperatively owned grocery store. I manage the produce department. A lot of vegetarian and vegan options as well as organic and non-GMO products. It's not super cheap, but toally affordable if natural foods are important to you. They don't accept other co-op memberships.

The nearest entrance to us is at the intersection of Biddle and Braddock. There are many entrances going up to Squirrel Hill on the North side of the park. Two off-leash dog parks and a lot of hiking and mountain biking.

Iconic shopping area for Pittsburgh dating back to when the rail lines brought in goods. Mix of food, specialty grocers and tourist shops. Best on Saturday mornings.

Cool neighborhood business district on Braddock with shopping, bars and restaurants. D's 6 Pack and Dogs is a staple for sure and has a great "beer cave" in the back.
