One of my favorite places in the area, great all day brunch/breakfast, BYOB. I like the farmhouse omelette with truffle oil and the breakfast burger. It takes a team to finish the fancy nachos. At a triangle with the OCF coffee house and new yoga place at the top of Point Breeze Avenue.

There are a lot of things to do in this area, which has a number of highly rated restaurants and nice shops. It's a 12-15 minute walk along Tasker street to Easy Passyunk Avenue. There are often markets or events going on. Restaurants include Brigantessa (Italian), Laurel (French) and the more casual cocktail/shared plates ITV next door, Townsend (French), Birra (Italian), Noord (Dutch), Perla (Filipino), Bing Bing Dim Sum (highly recommended), and others opening up. Many of these require advance reservations. Geno's and Pat's cheesesteaks are at the top of this avenue across from one another. There is also an ACME grocery store up there, and the closest CVS.

Free tickets required - you can get them the day of from the Visitor's Center (which also has a pricey but nice gift shop, helpful info and staff, and some really terrible re-enactment movies you can watch). Tickets are first come first serve, so they can run out. I recommend getting them online, even though there is a $1.50 service charge per ticket, because you can reserve you time. You still pick the tickets up at the Visitor's Center on 6th, and then head over to Chestnut (between 5th and 6th) to line up for the hour long tour. www.nps.gov/inde/planyourvist/independencehalltickets.htm
