This is where I go every day when in Whitby, it has the best coffee, great breakfasts, very generous portions and the bacon is so delicious. They make their own cold slaw which is awsome.

They have a small menu but the food is awsome. You have to book ahead as it is always fully booked on the night.

It is like going back to the 1950's, with silver service up stairs (except on a Monday). The food is excellent, the best hot chocolates I have had anywhere in the world.

I am not a pie person but all my friends and my partner LOVE this place, it has a diverse menu of free-range, organic pies in a restored 1700s-era shop with open fire and chintz.

Sightseeing
When you walk amongst the ruins you can feel the peace that still pervades the place, a holy place and one that can realign the visitor.

You can hire a row boat and row on the upper river. You can walk down river too under the viaduct which is so beautiful. Jacksons the butchers on the high street are the best, sold out by lunchtime!
