BEST. FISH. EVER. This place is an institution, which is why it is understandable for a restaurant inside a shopping mall to always be packed. They have the best sushi and actually everything else too. Have a look at their menu online and go early - no reservations!

There are a lot of really great Ethiopian restaurants in Cape Town, including some owned by this family, but Madam Taitou in Long Street is the quirkiest, most delicious of them all.

Parks & Nature

This is one of the most amazing places in Cape Town. The gardens are something to behold and are accessible to all. There is so much to do: picnic, walking, hiking, eating at the restaurant and it has some lovely local shopping. Check out the program for the summer sunset concerts each Sunday - amazing.

Shopping

Just on Sea Point main road. Second hand books for, basically, free. The proceeds from the sale of the books go to an extensive social service non-profit that operates in the Cape Flats. There are some true gems from the past that lurk here.

Cape Town's oldest and only surviving independent movie theatre. Look at their websites for amazing films, including film festivals. It's also the only movie theatre where you can have an alcoholic beverage! During the week they also have great specials with the restaurants next door.
