The first restaurant with authentic Peruvian food, for the meat lovers, but some vegetarian and vegan dishes as well. It's just around the corner of my place, 2-3 mins walk.

Drinks & Nightlife

They're the only ones with real good live music starting at 20h and going on till 2 or 4am. Becoming increasingly louder and better the longer you sit or stand there and have a few drinks.

The "El Lokal" is my favourite bar with a nice interiour design and a beautiful outdoor seating area even down to the river Sihl. You'll encounter a lot of young, urban, creative and industrious folks there, among them many expats. Sometimes, they have live music.

The "Langstrasse" are is an infamous red light district where you can find a myriad of bars and clubs and sometimes live music. It's only a 7 mins walk from my place. So, if you don't want to sleep yet and need some night entertainement or "a last drink", walk there and have fun! My place is just far enough from it so that we don't hear a thing from there. Loud partying and a good night's sleep are very close together at my lodging offer. The choice is yours!

Sightseeing

It's our signature church (christian, protestant) with 2 towers one of which you can walk up and take nice pictures/serlfies of the old medieval town (and you).

The "Niederdorf" is the medieval old town where Zurich has evolved from. Since many of the multiple centuries old houses are still intact and functionable as residental or commercial locations, you will have a real feel of literally walking in history. You'll see placards on the protected buildings stating the year they were built like 1374, 1412, 1670, etc. with a description which historic celebrity lived there or what the story of the houses are.

Parks & Nature

You can't miss the "Zürichsee", the lake of Zurich, when you visit our city. It's beautiful to stroll along its shores. On the left, walk till China garden, a donation of our partner city Kunming, on the right, go on foot toll the "Rote Fabrik", a hippie style venue with good food and a breathtaking view over the lake. Sometimes, they have subcultural theater shows and rock concerts there.

Shopping

The "Bahnhofstrasse" is a World famous shopping street, much like the 5th avenue in NYC. Only with many more jewellery and watch shops and private banks. If you start at the main railway station "HB" (Hauptbahnhof), you can stroll along the posh shops till you reach the lake.

Essentials

Coop and Migros are the large retail chains in Switzerland, both founded around 100 years ago, first with the goal to give the working class people more buying power and lower prices. Nowadays, they're just public stores for anyone with food and non food articles. Coop Lochergut ist the closest to run your errands if you like to prepare your own breakfast and dinner in my kitchen.
