This breakfast place replaced the Blackbird restaurant a couple years ago and is a hit in Manzanita. They specialize in egg scrambles and they make a point of not over cooking the eggs. Very scrumptious, great atmosphere vegetarian options. They have less traditional options and give Wanda's a run for her money

Very good cod fish and chips out of a food trailer in downtown Nehalem behind the shops on the river side. There is a boardwalk entrance in between shops to enter and there is a sign and foot steps to lead you. Picnic tables by the river and frankly some of the best fish and chips you'll experience. check out their Yelp reviews!
This is a favorite among locals and guests. Home made soups and ice cream. Excellent food for lunch and since it is all home made, tasty with unique flavors and goodies it's worth it among the foodies.

Nothing fancy, very basic. I'm very particular about my Mexican and Italian food having lived in Italy and Texas so I just don't go for a chain restaurant taste.

Hiking trails, creeks run into snug ocean cove at Short Sand Beach. A surfers favorite. Trailhead for Cape Falcon located here. Lots of parking and bathrooms at main trailhead and down closer to beach

Temporary closed due to landslide 2020. Check Oregon state parks for updates. Lovely cliff view of Cannon Beach and the rock formations. Tillamook Head Lighthouse can be seen also from Ecola State Park. ...and hiking trails, always with the hiking trails in lush evergreen forests.

2.5 mile hike one way to the prime lookout for whale migration. This trail is not appropriate for hyper dogs or small children. It has an alpine feel a quarter mile in with no fencing. As with many mountain trails its super important to be away of where you are walking and be courteous to groups going in the opposite direction. single file and moving as far right as possible for others to pass. If you are not hiking savvy just be a little more alert than usual. It's not so difficult a trail that a beginner can't do it. Well maintained trail for summer use or drier days. Spots can get soggy during wet season and need good boots for that.

Cape Lookout Trailhead2.5 mile hike one way to the prime lookout for whale migration. This trail is not appropriate for hyper dogs or small children. It has an alpine feel a quarter mile in with no fencing. As with many mountain trails its super important to be away of where you are walking and be courteous to groups going in the opposite direction. single file and moving as far right as possible for others to pass. Rent a boat, crab rings and bait and catch your own crab in Nehalem Bay. Didn't get your limit or crabs too small? No problem, Kelly's has a pot of live ones for you back at the dock that you can choose and watch them being cooked and cleaned and eat them right there on their many picnic tables. Not budget friendly but well stocked enough with walk in coolers for beer and wine and a fresh meat seafood counter.
