Many guests ask where I find the linens for our unit. If you like the linens, towels, blankets and throws we provide for your stay with us, they all come from French Quarter Linens in the Pearl District in NW Portland. This is a lovely store with excellent staff, and has a wide range of high-end luxury linens and household enhancements such as candles, soaps, tableware and contemporary decorative items. Their lines include Sferra, Leitner, Peacock Alley and so on. The salesperson I work with is named Cherry but all of the staff are equally wonderful. Again, Oregon has no sales tax so this is a good place to pick up tea towels or other small, packable items for gifts for those back home.

Very near the Cottage and connects with other Forest Park trails. Hilly but very much an urban Oregon nature trail.

Contrary to the Airbnb map attached this is very close by. This is a small mostly take-out place located near PSU, one of several in a chain of Pizza shops owned by a local family. Our closest is at PSU which will show on Google as being located at 1708 SW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97201. You can also find their menu on Google. They will deliver to our location. Call (503) 227-5800. Try the insalata mixta - very good with goat cheese and candied nuts. Salsiccia Roma Pizza also good if you are a carnivore. Usually takes about an hour for delivery. You can find the menu and more information online. Closes early (like 8:00 pm) so don't wait too long!

Incredible produce, meats, seafood, cheeses, wines, baked goods and flowers. Hot and cold deli in the store along with fresh juice bar and coffee bar. Lots of grab and go of very high quality and meals already prepared that only need to be heated. Excellent friendly service. Not the cheapest but awfully good. Locally owned and about 8 minutes away from the Cottage. Typically you need to get there by 9:00 pm because, like most places in PDX, they close early,

Drinks & Nightlife
This place is a legendary fine dining restaurant, in nearby NW Portland. I recommend the bar. It's small, locally owned by Chef Vitaly Paley, and has a nice romantic but semi-casual atmosphere. If you are seeking the full white table clothe fabulous dinner I recommend making reservations in advance. Chef Paley owns several other renowned downtown restaurants, but this little place is still my favorite. Tip: The Paley's Manhattan is out of this world. If you don't see it be sure to ask about it.

This nearby park (2 minute drive if you don't get lost!) rests in a residential neighborhood on top of the hill. It is best to visit on a clear day where you can see the peaks of several cascade mountains and generally get the lay of the land on where the rivers are and the direction of everything. It has plaques and markers that help orient you. This is a great place to take high energy little kids as they can really run around and have fun. Also, if the weather is nice and you would like to take a picnic, just let me know as I have a picnic blanket, cooler and other niceties for such an outing!
