Wonderful market with fresh produce, meat and fish on Wednesdays and most Fridays.
Lovely downtown. Great shops for souvenirs, and lots of dinner and lunch spots. As well as a small lovely beach. We have been told the President of Portugal swims here every week. Can you spot him?

This is a must! Hot fresh pastries, Pastéis de Belem is a national treat. It’s been said there is only one true recipe, kept under lock and key know by only a few people. All other are just versions for the amazing original.
Travelers Tip: There is always a huge line outside this is for the take away orders. It’s usually faster to get a table. Pass the line (no you are not cutting, I promise) and go inside for a table. The first section is a first come first serve area so spot a table and grab it. Or a little further back is a waiter who will seat you. Enjoy!

Sightseeing
One of our favorite castles we have see and we have seen a lot. The walk through the gardens is lovely and along the outside of the castle. The walk along the wall is for adults and is closed in the high season.

Lovely views! With a lunch bar. This beach is best for sightseeing now sunning as it get very windy. But great for surfing. Ask us about a surfing class recommendation.

Stunning little treasures hidden all over the gardens. Lots of walking and dusty so choose good shoes. Look for the hidden water fall and the inverted tower.
