This is fantastic for drinks and food. The Margaritas and Fish Tacos are superb. It is south of Amherst Center at the intersection of Route 116 and Pomeroy Lane. It is a fun atmosphere, but very loud. The wait is long on weekends. Go early. Lunch is quieter.

485 West StThis is fantastic for drinks and food. The Margaritas and Fish Tacos are superb. It is south of Amherst Center at the intersection of Route 116 and Pomeroy Lane. It is a fun atmosphere, but very loud. The wait is long on weekends. Go early. Lunch is quieter.
There is sidewalk seating in the summertime which makes this a perfect venue on the right day. The food is Asian-inspired. They have tea rolls and lots of different appetizers, curries, pad thai, Vietnamese coffee, & different kinds of tea.

This is quintessentially Amherst. We always go there for special occasions. The food is excellent: healthy and imaginative (American, French-inspired). The cocktails are great. Judie, the entertaining owner, circulates and makes conversation on weekend evenings. No reservations.

Great food- It is a full menu, not just pub food. The front room is a bar. The back room is fancier, but has the same menu. We have gone there on special occasions, and we have also gone just to sit at the bar on a weeknight to catch a ball game on TV.

(Johnny’s Tavern should not be confused with Johnny’s Diner - which is good when you want a classic diner experience. The Diner has the same owner as Johnny’s Tavern, but it is not as pricey and has a different menu. It is open late and family-friendly).
