This is like a cafe/restaurant, here you can have lunch, snacks and very very nice chocolate and drinks in general. It used to be a pharmacy and they converted it into a restaurant. It's my favourite place in Ponta do Sol.

My neighbors have a bakery, they give workshops about making traditional bread from Madeira and they sell fresh bread and cakes every week.

This restaurant in the city centre Funchal is my favourite restaurant on the island. Come here if you are looking for a fusion of traditional Madeirense food with foods from the world. Is quite expensive and very fancy compared to any other restaurant in the surroundings, but is totally worth it.

Mimiho bakery, located in Ribeira Brava sells amazing pastries and my ultimate favourite are the queijadas*.
*Made with ricotta cheese, eggs and sugar, Madeira’s queijadas are of convent origin and are one of the most appreciated delicacies of regional sweets.

Mimiho bakery, located in Ribeira Brava sells amazing pastries and my ultimate favourite are the queijadas*.

Come here to see the beautiful sunset and have a poncha. They also have very nice food.

Sardinha's house is located next to Pier Sardine in Ponta de São Lourenço , Caniçal , at the very end of the path of São Lourenço. I love to have some bites there after diving into the cristal clear waters next to it.

To have the experience of eating "espetadas" (not for vegetarians) the traditional way, this is the best place to come. It can get quite crowded so would recommend avoiding Fridays and weekends.

Pizzaria Sol Doce is the only restaurant I know that does delivery in Ponta do Sol. For those hungry explorers that forget to buy something beforehand ;)

It has an amazing view of the sea and they serve good food, but more expensive than the surrounding places.
I would strongly suggest to go to the "purple fridays" an event which happens usually every Friday in this hotel, where you can see the sunset and listen to very well known DJ's from around the world.

I would strongly suggest to go to the "purple fridays" an event which happens usually every Friday in this hotel, where you can see the sunset and listen to very well known DJ's from around the world.
Very close to the house you can find the "Levada do Moinho" which I would suggest to combine with "Levada Nova". It is a peaceful trail along the levadas where you will find an incredible waterfall you can actually walk behind.

The Cape Girão to the west of Funchal is known to be the highest seacliff in Europe and the second highest in the world! Its 580 meters height, make this a “must see” of the Madeiran tourist circuit.

I can't stop raving about my canyoning adventure with them! With their expert guidance and top-notch equipment (which kept me safe and comfy the whole way through), I tackled level 2+ canyons and had an absolute blast. Seriously, if you want to see the island from a whole new perspective, this is the way to do it. Trust me, the views alone are worth it. Highly, highly recommend

If you are looking for a beach with sand go to Praia da Calheta. You can also find a great variety of restaurant and bars. I love the Italian restaurant called "Maniffatura Di gelato"
