Spanish tapas bar with excellent Sangria, impossibly huge portions of seafood paella and other canny dishes, including beef casserole, breaded mussels stuffed with squid, onion and peppers and, well, all the usual tapas fare. Nice, buzzy local feel that's perfect for early evening and lunchtime, when they offer two tapas for the price of one during the week, noon–5pm.

Formerly The Barfly, this corner venue has been a Camden institution for years, welcoming Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand and Bombay Bicycle Club among the many bands who’ve played early London gigs here. It was a popular hangout during the Britpop and grunge years, doubtless due to its loud, post-band DJ sets and late licence. It’s recently been taken over by The Columbo Group and relaunched as the Camden Assembly. Still great for seeing bands and serves tasty burgers.
