Sightseeing

These are a few of my favorite places around town.
This place is the oldest garden in America. It has something for everyone and is truly a must-see even for the plantation-averse. It is a great place for bird-watchers and first time 'gator sightings. It has a historical African-American burial ground and peacocks. It's truly a sight to behold.

DIY

I love DIYs and if you do too, these are the best places to go.
Candlefish is a great place for a DIY candle making experience. They have lots of fragrances to choose from and you can bring your own food and drinks. This is place is great for special occasions like birthdays and weddings. If you don't want to make your own candles, you can buy pre-made candles, jewelry, and other gifts.

Beaches

This is hands down the best beach in the area. It's a beautiful, scenic drive to get there. There are shops and places to pickup lunch for your day at the beach. It's off the beaten path on a mostly private resort area, so it won't be overcrowded. To find out the cost of parking, check the Charleston County Parks and Recreation website.

Food scene

These are some of my favorite places to eat in the Charleston area.
This is the best farmers market in the tri-county area. It has something for everyone and it's located in the beautiful downtown Summerville, which boasts plenty of restaurants and shops.

There are lots of places to get soul food and seafood in the area, but Nana's combines the best of both. They have great lemonade and punch drinks made fresh and the best crab mac-and-cheese.

Conseils aux voyageurs

Se déplacer dans les environs

The best way to get around is to have your own car.

The second best way to get around is by Uber or Lyft. If you are going downtown, you can use the Carta or the free trollies. The trollies are a great, fun way to get around downtown.
