If you're up for a 45 minute to hour wait, and that's first thing when they open, you won't be sorry. Probably the best breakfast on the island. The macadamia nut white chocolate pancakes shouldn't be missed. it's worth the wait.

This Deli is right in front of the property. They make wonderful sandwiches and salads and they are very reasonably priced, which is hard to find on Maui. Stop in and get a beach box before heading down to Kam 2 across the street.

The road to Hana is a must. The drive is amazing. It is a long trip but certainly worth it.

It's a bit of a hike to get here, but it's worth the drive.

There is something magical about being surrounded by bamboo so high that it blocks out the light. The smells and sounds are amazing. There are several water spots along the hike as well.

Makena has 2 beaches, Big beach and Little beach. Probably my favorite beaches on the island. Big beach is beautiful but the waves can be non forgiving so exercise caution. Little beach is a short hike over the lava that extends into the ocean. Be aware, it is clothing optional.

The hotel itself is stunning. I like to come here for drinks at the bar. The views from the lanai are amazing. Beautiful beach very close by.
