Neighborhoods

Begur is a small village on the Costa Brava, many say it is the jewel in the crown of the area. It is like the hub of a wheel with beaches to the north and south and medieval villages to the east and west. The area is quite unique and the character of the area has been very well maintained by the local authority who do not permit high rise building or building not in keeping with the historical feel of the area. Begur is surrounded by in pine forest and craggy bays a photographers ideal holiday location with lots of stunning photo opportunities. If mass tourism is not your idea of a perfect holiday then maybe this is the place to consider.

Market Day in Begur is on Wednesday

It is a typical Catalan market with fresh fruit and veg, clothes, shoes, beach towels, bags etc, and very popular with people who come into the village. In Palafrugell, not too far away, there is a fruit and vegetable, fish and meat market every day except Monday. The Big market with stalls selling clothing, shoes, etc., is on Sunday.
