This restaurant is 5 minutes walk from the flat. Super cool place with mainly Eastern food selection, but you can find almost everything (also special food like vegan, vegetarian options, lot of veggie, hummus, but also meat, seafood) amazing vibes and atmosphere. Maybe good idea to make reservation. My fav in the very close area.

Nobody will tell you about this place, but it is a must have. There are tons very typical Hungarian food. It's the most fresh between 12-14 o'clock. There is always a queue of people waiting outside. You can eat in (if you fit because it's super small) or take away. You normally pay 3-5 euro for a biiig portion of your choice. Highly recommended local experience.

Nobody will tell you about this place, but it is a must have. There are tons very typical Hungarian food. It's the most fresh between 12-14 o'clock. There is always a queue of people waiting outside. You can eat in (if you fit because it's super small) or take away. You normally pay 3-5 euro for a biiig portion of your choice. Highly recommended local experience.

This place is 5 minutes walk from my flat, more for younger or 'hipster' people. Dj outside every day from Spring to Autumn with alternative electric music. Very affordable drinks, with 2 terrace: 1 outside next to main road and the other one behind which is more quite without the dj-great for more secure conversations. Inside there is party on Friday-Saturday and also exhibition of modern paintings. I'm 38 and still enjoying it so I recommend the experience for everyone.

FELIX Kitchen&Bar

Great place for people watching too haha (many celebrities, politicians) You can even walk here if you don't mind a good 30 minute tour on the side of the river from my house.

Food market just in front of my house behind Mammut shopping mall (behind first building) you can walk between the 2 buildings-it's only 5 minutes. You will find here everything you need: veggies, meat, fruits, special milk, cheese and many other things.

This is a very very quality hand made ice cream place. If you like ice cream this is a MUST HAVE place to try. 5 minutes walk, it is behind the Mammut shopping mall.

Situated about 20 minutes walk from my flat in the castle. Recently opened, epic spot for a fantastic view with nice wine or cocktails and food. Expect high prices though but it's worth the visit once.

I always come here when I'm back in Budapest as it's super affordable compared to any other European or American places and the service is great. I usually make a reservation online, just to make sure my appointment is guarantied. (they don't always have free spots)

Park
This is my favourite place to walk in the morning or during the day. Just 5-10 minutes away, on the right side of the 2nd Mammut shopping mall, you can even see part of it from my window. It was recently made, with a beautiful environment and some architecture. Very clean area with fountains, little lake, lot of green places, benches to sit down to relax, breath some fresh air or read your favourite book. There is also a very nice coffee place just right at the entrance with some handmade sandwiches.

16-20 Kis Rókus u.This is my favourite place to walk in the morning or during the day. Just 5-10 minutes away, on the right side of the 2nd Mammut shopping mall, you can even see part of it from my window. It was recently made, with a beautiful environment and some architecture. Very clean area with fountains, little lake, lot of green places, benches to sit down to relax, breath some fresh air or read your favourite book. There is also a very nice coffee place just right at the entrance with some handmade sandwiches.

Places to visit around my house
Breath taking 360 degree view to the city. Look around and be amazed by the fantastic history of the old town of Budapest. My favourite thing to come up here after dark, because the lights make it even more beautiful. Many restaurants and bars are waiting for you here too. This is a forever argument with my dad, but my opinion you can make it in 15 minutes to walk all the way up to the hill (dad says it's 30 minutes). You can also come up here by bus number 16 or 16/A which leave every 5-10 minutes from he front of my house.

Castle Hill
Breath taking 360 degree view to the city. Look around and be amazed by the fantastic history of the old town of Budapest. My favourite thing to come up here after dark, because the lights make it even more beautiful. Many restaurants and bars are waiting for you here too. This is a forever argument with my dad, but my opinion you can make it in 15 minutes to walk all the way up to the hill (dad says it's 30 minutes). You can also come up here by bus number 16 or 16/A which leave every 5-10 minutes from he front of my house.
Probably the best walk you can have around my area. You walk down on street Hattyú all the way to the Danube. And you will see the most amazing building: the Parliament on the other side of the river. Now enjoy another 15 minutes of walk next to the the river to the right where you will see our bridges, the Citadella (statue of freedom) and you will end up at the Chain bridge (that is closed for now for some constructions) but then you will soon reach Várkert bazár. That building and its garden is something you will love. You can also check if there is any event held because almost every weekend there is something (classical concerts, fashion shows etc and you can buy tickets online) Further but advanced challenge to walk up from here to Citadella. But it's worth the pain too! ;)

Várkert Bazár
Probably the best walk you can have around my area. You walk down on street Hattyú all the way to the Danube. And you will see the most amazing building: the Parliament on the other side of the river. Now enjoy another 15 minutes of walk next to the the river to the right where you will see our bridges, the Citadella (statue of freedom) and you will end up at the Chain bridge (that is closed for now for some constructions) but then you will soon reach Várkert bazár. That building and its garden is something you will love. You can also check if there is any event held because almost every weekend there is something (classical concerts, fashion shows etc and you can buy tickets online) Further but advanced challenge to walk up from here to Citadella. But it's worth the pain too! ;)

If you don't feel like using my yoga mat and weights in my flat, but would like to do some exercise, I have a good idea for you. As a kitesurfer I need my muscles trained and my posture well maintained. I first tried pilates already 3 years ago and guess what IT IS IN MY BUILDING on the first floor. Very convenient! Joana made this small, pretty place for one to one or for 2 people (so you can go with your other half/friend) Super professional and you can book your appointment online with just few clicks. I have absolutely no interest to advertise it, I just recommend it by all my heart.
