The village of Cricklade is great, it has everything you need all within walking distance of the house.
There is a Leisure Centre where you can do anything from swimming to Boule.
There are plenty of spaces for the kids to play, there are two parks, a playing field and a skate park all within walking distance.
For Food
There is the Cricklade club (not really a club, but named after the social club, that used to be there) which is a very laid back bar with an amazing choice of craft beers, and a great food selection. There is also the Red Lion, which brews its own beers on-site as well as offers a massive choice of other local beers and a selection of gins.
There is a choice of two amazing curry houses both of which deliver, and an outstanding Thai restaurant that goes above and beyond a Pad Thai.
Also in the village, there is a Local Tesco for cheap booze and anything else that you forgot to pack.
Getting around
You can be in the heart of the Cotswolds within 20 mins, to view all of the beauty that they hold. We are 10 minutes from Cirencester, which is a great place to mooch around on the weekend, sipping coffee in the morning and bubbles in the afternoon, while doing a bit of shopping and eating some great food.
We are only 5 minutes away from the water park, so if you would like to do some sailing, paddleboarding, triathlon, canoeing or wakeboarding you can burn the energy up before schluming in front of a movie for the night.
We are also 20 minutes from Swindon, so if you are a serious shopper you can blow your budget on some very reasonably priced big brand names at the Swindon Designer Outlet. Not to mention the many other highlights that Swindon has to offer.
The nearest train stations are Swindon (20mis) or Kemble (20mins), there are buses from Swindon to Cricklade regularly so getting here is easy.
There are some really good walks for you and the kids, there plenty of opportunities for the dogs to get off the lead and run around down the old railway line that ran through Cricklade.
