Bus line 19 runs straight thru East Pete, the bus stop is at the intersection of Graystone and Main Streets, right beside the Fulton Bank. Fares are around $2.50 and will take you into Lancaster city or Manheim. They run regularly during the day and stop by 6:30pm.

Lancaster Swing Dance
The Lancaster swing dance community is alive and well. We met every Saturday with a lesson at 7 and dancing from 8-11. Once a month there's live band music interspersed with great DJs. If you bring a snack you get a discount and it's free entrance after 10. It's social dancing at its finest and is open to all ages and abilities.

Amish
The Amish are a huge part of life in Lancaster County. You can buy fresh produce, milk, and eggs from many roadside stands and or visit their businesses on the east side of the county (Paradise, Bird in Hand, Intercourse, Strasburg). They practice a life of simplicity and community. Most prefer not to be photographed so be respectful. Use caution when passing the buggies and keep an eye out for people walking or riding scooters on the side of the road.

For a unique shopping experience check out BB's Grocery outlet for cheap but dented or over stocked items, just keep an eye on expiration dates. Closer to East Pete there's the Discount Grocery close to the Rohrerstown Road exit off RT 30.

Thrifting
Plato's Closet is close to town for in style consignments, the Salvation Army a few miles south on RT 72 is 50% off everything on Wednesdays, and my personal favorite place to shop for antique or retro items is Tollbooth in Columbia. Other faves include Jubilee in Manheim, Fashion Cents in Strasburg, and Divine Consign in Manheim.

Music
Every Sunday evening Long's Park hosts a free summer concert series. Local food trucks are there and it's a great place to relax. Bring chairs or picnic blankets.
