The first and smallest brewery in the Village, this one has kept and plans to keep a much lower profile than the others, but it gives you a real good feel of how the microbrewery scene got started in AVL, now considered one of the most well respected Beer Cities in the US.

A locals hangout (all our Servers will be there after restaurant closes), smoking patio is a big attraction as well as the well priced drinks. This is the original depot station designed as part of the Village and built in late 1800s when Biltmore was known as Best, NC (we still think it is). The desserts here are made in house by Polly (one of the owners), they are indescribably delicious !!

This legacy continues today as the Guild plays a large role in the Southern Highlands craft economy through the operation of four craft shops (one here in the Village) and two annual craft expositions. Everything Else

Downtown Asheville was all we had when I was a child for shopping and dining, then in the 70s (I was about 10yrs old) the MALL came and downtown was a boarded up scary place. Its renaissance started in the 1990s mainly with folks coming to the area (similar to George Vanderbilt) and seeing its potential. Today Downtown boasts world class restaurants, shopping and bar hopping with a hippy vibe- checkout the drum circle in Pritchard Park on Friday nights. A free event that is organically created and different each week. Even if you don't want to beat a drum, you will be tapping your feet and feeling the energy that only Asheville can provide.
