Shelter Cove is a windy, 45 minute drive through beautiful mountains and trees, the reward is amazing! They have a golf course on the ocean front, a marina and 3 very different beaches. One beach is a typical sand beach to explore, another beach is a black pebble beach that is really secluded. Lastly, there is a rocky area that has great tide pools and an area where seals hang out. There is a great little park with tables over looking the cliffs that lead to the tide pools (there is a stairway that gets you down to the water). My daughters and I love to take a snack and a couple of games and just sit in the sun at the tables playing games and watching the ocean.

Benbow KOA has a 9-hole PGA rated golf course that is a beautiful course winding through the hillside. Has 2 sets of tee markers so you can play 18 holes too.

Neighborhoods
The Benbow Historic Inn is our neighbor. A beautiful hotel that opened in 1926 out of the local redwood trees. Has a restaurant and bar with a patio that overlooks a lovely arched stone bridge. A must see!

One of our favorite places to eat. About 20 minutes away at the gateway to Avenue of the Giants. Great pizza and calzone. Have other items too like burgers, lasagne, and tacos. Also serve breakfast.

This little coffee shop is in Garberville, the next exit north of us off of Highway 101. My favorite place in town. Great coffee, good food, friendly staff.
