Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy
This world famous pebble beach is just amazing , my favourite place . Summer or winter it just transfixes you with it’s never ending span of pebbles and it’s constant movement.
If you want to go swimming down there , esp with children, the safest place is in the corner cove by the rocks. Just in front of quiddles cafe (handy for drinks /toilets).
You will plenty of fishermen and divers down there and keep a look out for our local seal too !

If you are good at walking up hills, you can walk this in approx 15 mins from the house. 5 mins in the car though

World famous Portland bill, wonderful place in the summer, fantastic in the winter with the crashing waves. Plenty of room to run around and climb or just sit and take in the view.
The lobster pot cafe is next to the lighthouse and is the perfect place for a light lunch , coffee and cake or just an ice cream.
Just 2 mins up the road is the pulpit inn, a great pub with great views.

If you are feeling energetic you can walk to it from the house. Bottom of mallams , cross the rd onto cove cottages and walk to the end. Turn left and carry on walking till the path runs out and it becomes a track. Climb to the top of the cliff ( it’s a path all the way up, then a few steps ) and turn right and right again onto the cliffs. Take in the stunning views from the top and amazed !
Turn left and follow the path into tout. I can do this walk in about 15 / 20mins.
You can also drive up, takes about 5 mins.

Tout Quarry Sculpture Park and Nature Reserve
A brilliant place to walk /run around, very safe and really good fun for everyone hunting the sculptures.
If you are feeling energetic you can walk to it from the house. Bottom of mallams , cross the rd onto cove cottages and walk to the end. Turn left and carry on walking till the path runs out and it becomes a track. Climb to the top of the cliff ( it’s a path all the way up, then a few steps ) and turn right and right again onto the cliffs. Take in the stunning views from the top and amazed !
Turn left and follow the path into tout. I can do this walk in about 15 / 20mins.
You can also drive up, takes about 5 mins.
Really great place to visit , it’s not expensive at all and all the staff are very knowledgable . You can get hands on with most of the equipment and get a real feel of how things were back then.

Always good food here and close by too ! Go down the steps at bottom of the rd by phone box and it’s just across the rd. great place to go for a meal or to takeaway

Lovely chinese takeaway and only a few mins from the house.
Go down the steps at bottom of the rd , turn right and follow the rd for a couple of minutes, the Chinese is on opp side of the rd.
Take note, they not accept card payment, cash only .
