Local
Murwillumbah is your closest town, and is just 5 minutes drive. The town has a Coles Supermarket, an IGA and a large variety of shops along the main street and in the plaza. Many are quaint with lots of things you won't see elsewhere.
There is a local Farmers Market filled with fresh produce at the Showground every Wednesday morning.
There are also multiple dining options and cafe's in the town, and the Austral Cafe is is real step back in time. There is also an old original Cinema kn town.

Town Centre
The Murwillumbah shopping precinct is always a bustling hive of activity and in addition to its more conventional business ventures, visitors will also find several organic produce stores, vibrant creative outlets, funky op shops and exotically scented day spas. Many of these sell locally produced crafts and edibles, thus supporting the many artisan and growers who live in the area. In addition, the town centre boasts a comprehensive selection of dining destinations.
A couple of thriving local markets are also held regularly in the town. The Murwillumbah Cottage Markets are held on the first and third Saturday of each month at Knox Park in the town centre, while the Murwillumbah Showground Markets are held on the fourth Sunday of the month.

Fantastic pools and water slide at the Town Pool complex. Great place to go on a hot day, and fantastic for the kids.

On the east coast of Australia in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales lies the deepest caldera in the Southern Hemisphere. At the focal point of the caldera and still dominating the region is the eroded core of the once mighty Tweed volcano. Known as Wollumbin or ‘cloud catcher’ by the Bundjalung people, it was named Mt Warning by Captain James Cook in 1770, to warn mariners of the treacherous coastline between Fingal Head and Point Danger.
Nestled in the caldera below, set on 150 acres of farmland with the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Gondwana Rainforest to the west, lies the family run distillery where Husk Distillers practice their craft.

Sightseeing
A great place to visit and it is free, which is rare these days. Easy to spend an hour or so there, plus there is a lovely cafe there. The views over the river are absolutely beautiful.

Art Gallery
A popular spot with both locals and visitors, the Tweed Valley Art Gallery is a modern, state-of-the-art structure situated amidst lush farmland on the outskirts of Murwillumbah. At any one time it features several exhibitions, highlighting the work of local, Australian and international artists. On the day that I visited, there was also an impressive exhibition in the gallery's foyer featuring the work of talented children from the local schools.

2 Mistral RdA great place to visit and it is free, which is rare these days. Easy to spend an hour or so there, plus there is a lovely cafe there. The views over the river are absolutely beautiful.

A popular spot with both locals and visitors, the Tweed Valley Art Gallery is a modern, state-of-the-art structure situated amidst lush farmland on the outskirts of Murwillumbah. At any one time it features several exhibitions, highlighting the work of local, Australian and international artists. On the day that I visited, there was also an impressive exhibition in the gallery's foyer featuring the work of talented children from the local schools.
Another interesting place, so drop in and check it out.

An absolute must visit. It is an easy walk for most, although there are stairs if you do the full loop. If you take the path to the left at the start, you will go down the stairs (instead of up) so it is much easier. For anyone who can't manage stairs, just keep to the right at the fork and go check out the waterfall, and then return along the same path.
This is a beautiful place to visit.

Uki is a lovely small town approx. 15 minutes from the Red Rattlers. There are some lovely cafe's and also the Uki Hotel which is great for meals.
A short drive past Uki will take you to the Clarrie Hall Dam which is a great place to check out. Also just past UKI is Crams Farm Reserve which is a lovely place for a picnic.

Uki is a lovely small town approx. 15 minutes from the Red Rattlers. There are some lovely cafe's and also the Uki Hotel which is great for meals.
A short drive past Uki will take you to the Clarrie Hall Dam which is a great place to check out. Also just past UKI is Crams Farm Reserve which is a lovely place for a picnic.

Take a drive to the base of Mt. Warning. We don't recommend a walk up the mountain unless you are super fit! It is hard and long and only suitable for experienced hikers.
It is still very pretty at the bottom and worth a visit.

Visitors can enjoy many scenic drives throughout the Tweed area. You can find details of recommended routes on the sign-boards at Budd Park, just near the bridge in Murwillumbah, or from the friendly staff at the Murwillumbah Visitors Information Centre, located at the old Murwillumbah Railway Station.

Nimbin, famous for being the hub of Australia's counter-culture during the '70s is also less than an hour's drive from Murwillumbah. Surrounded by idyllic country-side and the home of many talented artisans, these villages house an eclectic assortment of galleries, cafes, antique stores and op shops which will be sure to keep you fascinated for hours. Most also have regular weekend markets.

A well know special place to dine. Most of the produce you eat has been grown in their own veggie garden, and food is always great. It is located close to the base of Mt Warning.
