Australia's only Monastic town! 1.5 hours drive out of Beechboro - The Spanish missionary houses the Benedictine monks. I love the peacefulness of the town, the little chapel the museum AND the Port wine and their wood fired bread! Its been a few years since I last visited but along the way you can explore Bindoon, Bullsbrook and a few other lil' towns - I have a brochure in the house with a 2 day Avon Valley Loop that takes you through Northam, Toodyay. I have heard there is a Pilgrim Trail you can follow - if anyone interested let me know and will see what details I can find for you.

Wildlife - Australia's own unique right at your doorstep - or at least not far from your doorstep. when we moved to Beechboro the park was located 5 minutes from us, in Caversham but in 2003 it moved to Whiteman Park. It is a must see if you have kids or for the kids at heart

Beer & food and a great place to Chill. This hotel has been on this site since the 1880's. Fire gutted the interior in 2008 - a few years ago (think about 2016) the hotel reopened. They have kept a few of the original tiles & bricks. Have it on good advice their 'Parmy' is worth a mention
