Beautiful indigenous gardens and trees complemented with lovely pathways that meander like tree branches around the gardens . A truly lovely place to visit, so lucky to have this close by.
Over 100 years ago from 1893 up until the early 1970s, this was the site of the Upper Hawthorn & Fritsch Holzer Brickworks. At its peak this company employed over 80 people & produced 250,000 bricks per week. These solid handmade bricks are used in the house you are staying in. Each brick has markings in the centre (frog) denoting which person/team was responsible for making them. At our property please feel free to examine the display of these beautiful handmade bricks on shelves above the dining table.

Located in glen iris, offers junior jumps and more challenging ones for older kids. Delightful playground across the road. Also a delightful coffee shop handy. You can also do a 10km approx circuit bike ride from here, fabulous family activity. Fairly easy gradients.

Coles Supermarket is the closest and easiest supermarket to get to from this house, either via walking or driving. If walking, go straight down Burke Rd to Camberwell .... it’s approx an 8 min walk. A guaranteed fast 2-3min way to drive to Coles and the fabulous butcher located just outside of this supermarket plus Liquorland & Dan Murphy’s: Drive down Pleasant rd towards the city, in approx 200m down turn right into Havelock rd, drive across the lights on the green light of course! Then cut around thru Redfern st to Camberwell road - or instead of Redfern you can also take the side street via the tram terminus, just watch out for trams tho!!!
