Get the 'bifana' and an espresso or beer or a full meal,the bifana ( braised pork steak) is a favourite local snack that can be found at myriad lisbon counters invariably served as a sandwich. But the ones at O trevo,which come in a nice crispy roll,are among the city’s best. Anthony Bourdain was full of praise when he sampled them on a visit to Lisbon

Is not hard to find a good meat croquettes at snack bars or restaurants all over the town. But none are as good as those at Gambrinus. Complete the experience by dipping them in a house mustard and washing them down with draught beer at the counter.
