If you don't fancy cooking one day, why not enjoy a meal at The Crabshell - in Kingsbridge. A wonderful location beside the Estuary. A long quay enables you to wine and dine al-fresco at the quayside tables where you can watch the boats and birdlife including herons and egrets, and occasionally seals can be seen playing just off the quay. Pizzas are the speciality. The children will be kept entertained trying to catch crabs from the Quay so take a line with you. Dog Friendly.

Torcross is probably the closest beach to Fallapit and is dog friendly. A pebbly beach, but really rather pleasant and well worth driving to as the Start Bay Inn serves the best Fish and Chips. You can get a take away and sit on the beach and really feel like you are on your holiday!!!!

Sightseeing

You can't come to Devon and not visit Salcombe. The iconic seaside town that has become the (2nd) home to the rich and famous, has managed to keep its charm. Wander own the streets, grab a crab, people watch the yachties and finish off with some Salcombe Diary Ice cream - what better way to spend a day!!! There are some great beaches close to the town centre - North sands/Southsands. Also Overbecks - a National Trust property with some lovely gardens.

You can join the SW Coastal path at many points - Hope Cove is just 1 option. If you walk east from Hope Cove you will see the most fabulous coast line - there are some steep hills though - but worth the views!!!

Yet another famous Seaside town on our doorstep. This time Dartmouth - home to the Royal Naval College and a beautiful town with some great shops - well worth a visit. If you fancy a walk here why not try the Little Dartmouth Loop . Park at Little Dartmouth car park. This is a great walk from Little Dartmouth Farm either in a loop or around the coast to the mouth of the river & on past the castle & in to Dartmouth itself. If you fancy taking a breather - grab the castle ferry from the pontoon down below Dartmouth Castle and arrive in Dartmouth by boat! Or hop on the chain ferry over the river and follow the railway path along the river back to Kingswear and watch the steam train come in from Totnes. A short, but interesting walk for little ones.

One for the Kiddies

For a kid indulgent day (if you’ve had enough of the beach!), go to Woodlands Adventure Park, just 10 mins away on the main road to Darmouth A kiddie heaven with the biggest indoor play zone in Europe (fantastic on a rainy day!). Can be very busy in the summer but the kids will absolutely love it!

Something for everyone

If you like your craft ales, this is the place to go!!! A fabulous local eating and drinking venue located in a little seaside village. A great place to spend the day on the beach and finish off with a pint or 2 sitting on the sea wall watching the sun go down! The pub also serves great food.
