Areopoli is a well preserved historical town with stone paths and traditional tower houses which were built for social and defensive reasons. The town took its name from the Greek God of War Ares and was the capital of the historical district of Inner Mani.

Cape Tainaron is located at the southernmost point of the Peloponnese, and it’s a place of immense beauty. There is only one access route, winding and passing through the famous Mani picturesque villages and tower-houses, built with locally quarried stone, a practice that has been observed for thousands of years.

he Diros Caves are perhaps the most important natural site in Greece and in their own way as spectacular as the caldera of Santorini. The Paleolithic and Neolithic artifacts found here, many of which are in display in the museum, mean that the caves were one of the earliest inhabited places in Greece. Located at the top of the Mani between the town of Pirgos Dirou and Areopolis the entrance is a few meters above the sea and a beautiful stone beach.

Vathia is one of the most impressive traditional villages and certainly the most photographed throughout Mani.
The settlement of Vathia suddenly pops up from one of the road turns, like a citadel built on a hilltop and is just 2 km from the sea offering magnificent views to the Mediterranean.

Gytheio was built on a hill called Koumaros or Laryssio in one of the most fertile areas in Mani. Gytheio is the site of ancient Cranae, a tiny island where according to legend Paris of Troy and Helen from Sparta spent their first night together before departing for Troy, thus igniting the Trojan War.
