Who doesn't want some good ol' Tex-Mex while at the beach? Not only that, they're one of the only places in Westport that serves seafood which isn't fried. The Molcajete Mariscos is my personal favorite.

Finally, a restaurant in town that serves seafood that isn't fried! Excellent food if you have room in your budget. And it's only a 10 minute walk away!

Westport's grocery store is actually pretty darned good, with options from from gourmet to camping. I can actually find some vegetable and meat options here that I struggle to find at other larger chains in the city. I especially like their New York steaks which are sold in slightly "bulk" packaging: take it home, slice into 2-3 wonderfully marbled steaks, throw onto the grill, and re-define what you previously thought was a good steak at home! Also a decent beer and alcohol selection to help you enjoy your beach vacation.

This place is -almost- great. They do a fantastic job with their meats, but kinda fail with their sauces. Order some take-out, use your own favorite, and you're set!

If only this place was open for dinner, too! Amazing food for breakfast or lunch. Their homemade clam chowder, made daily, is some of the best I've had.
Breakfast served all day, but they close at 2pm!

Things To Do
Easy beach access with free parking and plenty of logs to sit on while watching the waves, surfers, and having a campfire.
Please make sure you build any campfires far enough away from the grass to minimize the risk of brush fires!

Probably the preferred of the 3 surfing breaks in Westport, catering to all skill levels. If surfing isn't your thing, still a good place to enjoy the sand, driftwood, and explore the jetty.

It'll take less than an hour to visit Washington State's Historic Aquarium, built in 1957 in the Marina District. View local fish, feed the ducks and view the Aquarium's marine mammal education and outreach exhibits. Crafts on the craft table are always free.

Sightseeing
At 107 feet tall, the Grays Harbor Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Washington State. Unlike many lighthouses, the Grays Harbor Light still houses the original 3rd order clamshell-shaped Fresnel lens. This lens was built in Paris, France in 1895 and visitors can climb to the lens (or lantern) room level. The flash pattern of this lens was, and still is, red and white to mark the opening to Grays Harbor. As the lighthouse itself is still an aid to navigation, visitors are able to see the current beacon mounted to the outside railing. As a kid, with the original beam still running and a lot fewer tall trees, I can remember counting the consistent intervals of the beam sweeping across the house.
With a 360° view of the ocean and surrounding areas, it is a photographer’s dream. Come on a clear day and you might even be able to see the top of Mount Rainier to the east.

Displays for the whole family to learn about the local history. There are even some displays outdoors if you happen to pass-by while the museum isn't open. My daughter always finds the whole whale skeleton fascinating.
