Amazing views of the ocean, a great place to sit and watch the hand gliders and have a snack from their little snack counter (no outside food allowed).
You could also go hand gliding if that's your thing, but we go there for the views and to relax.

Fun walk along the water- be sure to check out USS Midway (there is a museum inside, but it's worth a look even if you don't go in).

While adults can't swim in the children's pool- this is a great starting point for a walk along the water in La Jolla. Check out the seals near by (but do not touch).

A beautiful hotel where visitors are welcome to walk around (most areas- there are restricted areas for guests only). Definitely worth walking around the grounds (inside and out) and strolling along the beach.
