City/town information

Thessaloniki is the city where I chose to be born in; and not by chance! My city is famous of it's beauty in all aspects (smiley and hospitable people, great lifestyle, lots of activities going around, amazing views as it's a city by the sea surrounded by the mountain Hortiatis and across the gulf of Thermaikos travellers can admire the highest mountain in Greece, named Olympus (2.918m), also known as the mountain of Gods!! The city dates back to the ancient Greece where Macedonians built great history and travellers can explore plenty of its cultural monuments and antiquities. Being the second largest city of Greece, I find its size just as big and as small as it should be. It normally takes someone 45 minutes maximum time to cross this beautiful city from one end to the other. Among many of the advantages visiting my city is that within a 20 min drive you can find yourself lying on an amazing beach at the foot of the unique peninsula of Halkidiki! Last but not least, the food and greek cuisine is even more specially experienced in this city as we Thessalonians love food and bring lots of tastes and a mixture of old recipes from our ancestors who have lived in Istanbul during the past decades. 'Nuff said, hop on a plane or bus or car and I 'll help you explore the beauty of Thessaloniki!
