This is not a far drive from the cottage, It is located on the ground floor of the Drury Plaza Broadview Hotel which is right on the river. very good food in a Historic downtown Hotel. There is free parking in the parking Garage across the street. This is the closest Non Franchise steak house I recommend.

This is another Steak House I recommend although it is a further drive, It is actually on the East side of town on Kellogg, (US highway 54) The food is good and the prices are reasonable.

Yes Texas Roadhouse is a Franchise Restaurant chain but the west side one is relatively close to the cottage and food Prices are reasonable and the quality is good and consistent

This is a one of my favorite Barbeque places in town. It is in the Delano neighborhood if you head east on Douglas Avenue you will get there in no time.

This is a very good barbeque restaurant and bar. I think the food is excellent here but I will say I find their cocktail prices a bit high and perhaps a bit weak for the premium price but the food itself is great. Drink Ice tea or water. It is located in the old town district.

B&C Barbeque is another great Barbeque place in town. It is also in the old town district. They have a very large lunch crowd and do a Buffet Barbeque from 11:00AM to 2:00PM in the evening you order from a menu.

This is a local chain with many locations in Wichita and surrounding towns. I am not trying to knock it but with so many stand alone Barbeque places in town I do not eat here all that often but the prices are reasonable and it is very close to the cottage. Don't be late they close at 8:00.

I love College hill Deli, They have Mediterranean food and other soups and menu items as well. It is a bit of a drive but not that far. It is on the East side in the college hill Neighborhood. The owner is a Super nice guy.

The Wine Dive is a good little Restaurant in the College Hill Neighborhood they have really good food and yes they serve wine but they have a full bar as well. it is on the east side of town.
