Sky Meadows State Park was formed when philanthropist Paul Mellon donated the land. The name Sky Meadows came from former owner Sir Robert Hadow, who named the property "Skye Farm" after an island in Scotland. It starts in a valley between the foothills and the Blue Ridge Mountains, then stretches up to the ridge of the mountain and the Appalachian Trail. With a combination of meadows, grazed fields, forest, scrub, and streams, it has a wide variety of ecological zones and activities, such as stargazing, hiking, camping, and bird watching, to enjoy.

Scenic Trail Rides are offered year-round. Our trails pass through the Shenandoah Valley’s history rich meadows, woods, and hills. You can ride across Manassas Run, pass the old cannon emplacements that used to guard Morgan’s Ford, visit the old barns that used to hold US Cavalry ponies, and see the house where George Washington stayed when he was a young man surveying for Lord Fairfax. One or more trail guides lead each ride. Riding experiences range from gentle pastures, to wide sloping trails, crossing small or medium sized streams, and even some trails that are narrow, windy, wooded and steep.

Built around 1947 as the original Marshall Hardware Store, our shop still features the original oak store counter and the glass cutting station which has been reimagined into an organizational piece at the counter. Prior to Marshall Curated, it was a more typical antiques shop called Robin’s Nest and thrived for about 10 years as such until new owners, Kevin & Rosanna Smith, took the property off the market on November 16, 2019. It was the same day Kevin took Rosanna "off the market" 17 years earlier when he asked her to marry him. Some things are just meant to be! Come in to see what the new Marshall Curated home decor shop is bringing to this small town’s revitalized Main Street. We invite you to make your homes both functional AND beautiful with vintage furniture and home decor. At Marshall Curated, we’re not like your typical antique store. 8371 W.
