Authentic Indonesian/SE Asian food in little Colorado mountain town, this is coming from a born-and-raised Taiwanese. I usually eat very spicy food (I love fresh Thai chili) but I can barely do the 3 out of 5 there.
Do not expect the food to arrive fast - there's often only one chef and she does make everything from scratch so it can take some time. I usually go very early to ensure I got a table.
Make sure you try Lea's Rolls!

All natural hot springs. The drive in the winter can be rough - need high clearance and winter tires. But sometimes even studded tires is challenged on certain days/nights. Bring lots of sunscreen if you are going to soak in the day time.

Where Howlsen Hill sits (the front side) and home to many good mountain bike and hiking trail. Check out the trail system using app like TrailFork etc. You will get a great view of the town too!

1 hours drive from Steamboat Springs. If you like to hike and are looking for adventure, this is the spot for you. Many of the hikes have creek crossing that can be thigh deep, so prepare for it. Pack warm clothing (hat, gloves, raincoat) as you will for alpine hikes.

1 hours drive from Steamboat Springs. If you like to hike and are looking for adventure, this is the spot for you. Many of the hikes have creek crossing that can be thigh deep, so prepare for it. Pack warm clothing (hat, gloves, raincoat) as you will for alpine hikes.
Fun for every season. Hot spring pools, swimming, gym and fitness center plus a 3 story high water slide!
We often walk there via the multi use trail path. It is a bit steep but we’ll worth it especially in the night to star gazing.

West side of Rabbit Ear Pass has trails designated for non-motorized sports, like Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing! You can also drive to the Rabbit Ear Trailhead and hike to the top of Rabbit Ears!

This is the trailhead for the famed Flash of Gold mountain bike trail! Some like to ride from the town, starting at Spring Creek, connecting to Flash of Gold at Dry Lake, then to the top of the Buffalo Pass. That will be over 3,500 ft of elevational gain! (I did it once and it was a very long and satisfyingly day!)

Things to do with families w/ younger kids
Park your car near the Orange Peel Bicycle, and spend some time at the park across the street from bike shop. Hop on the multi-use trail on foot for a walk westward along the Yampa River, to see the Steamboat Pond, then a little more westward to the Steamboat Library. The library has a wonderful children's section.
