CityMapper & Oyster Card
The easiest and more accurate way I have found to get around London is using the free app CityMapper. It will give you various options to travel around.
I recommend you to get an Oyster card and top it up to get public transport in London.
It cost an initial fee of £5 and then, you can put the amount you wish on it. It's convenient if you come to London frequently and if not, you can always lend it to friends & family who plan to visit the city too.
