Llyn Peninsular

One of the most stunning parts of Wales, and consequently, the whole of the UK. An incredible coastline with secret beaches and coves awaiting your arrival. Food and drink, activity and leisure are in abundance on this peninsula that has its very own very random climate. Please enjoy, take care and stay safe!
The market town of Pwllheli is the "Capital" of the Llyn, it's where you'll find all of the main supermarkets, banks, transport links and the bi-weekly market. It's got a wide variety of independant shops, bars and restaurants. Being the main town in the area it's a thriving place, with a local Welsh community spirit which is welcoming to all who visit. Pwllheli has an award winning marina, harbour and recently revamped sailing academy, which holds national and international sailing competitions.

Sightseeing

Book tickets on line, and if you're a National Trust member, don't forget your card! Lots of stairs to climb, so no stilettos is probably recommended!

Sygun Copper Mine is a Victorian copper mine which closed in 1903 but was renovated and reopened by the Amies family as a tourist attraction in 1986, focusing on audio-visual tours of the underground workings. Sygun Copper Mine was once a main supplier of minerals in Wales. It is located about one mile (1.6 km) outside of the village of Beddgelert in the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. The mine makes a great trip on either a rainy or scorching hot day, as the ambient temperature inside remains comfortably the same… for the walk from the exit of the mine you’d need your waterproofs! Some climbing of ladders is required…so I’d recommend no stilettos or flip flops for this one.

Such a great place for young families... Iv'e spent many a happy day here with my daughter, and even had her 8th birthday party here. A cute, honest, back to basics location where for over 30 years the farm has welcomed visitors to interact with a wide range of farm animals including some rare breeds. Under adult supervision, the children are allowed to handle a selection of different types of animals including rabbits, guinea pigs and puppies, as well as hand-feeding many of the larger animals such as pigmy goats, alpacas, rhea, donkeys, ponies, pigs and lambs. You may see a wide variety of newly born animals or be lucky enough to witness a birth. There is also a cafe serving homemade soups and cakes. A hidden gem that's well worth a visit!

“Take on the 18-hole course, set 500ft below the ground in a disused cavern, and only accessible by Europe’s steepest cable railway” From £22 each, needing little more than moderate walking ability and warm clothes, how better to tackle the rainy day blues!?!
