Taking a ferry from Tickles Dockside Pub for $15 round trip per person. Then free bus ride to Honeymoon Beach. Lots of turtles to see. Dinghy's has great food and drinks.

Torvet State RoadAt the top of the hour you can drive your car to St John on Love City Ferries. This is my favorite ferry. You can walk around and hang out at bar upstairs. Remember to take lots of pictures from this view of St Thomas. They are amazing!
At bottom of the hour you can take Big Red Barge. Not as good but will get you there.

If you need sliced meat, this is the place to shop. Slightly more expensive but the quality of the food is good and the employees are super friendly.

Rental car - taxis charge about $10 per person per trip
Get a rental car - small car will do.
Public transportation and taxis are very limited. It's best to get a rental car in order to visit all the wonderful beaches and places to visit. I've used Dollar and Thrifty several times with great success.

Pack light
The weather here is around 84 degrees. A shirt, hat, shorts and flip-flops are all you will need. Maybe a light sweatshirt/sweater for late evening. Don't forget sunscreen and sunglasses.

Taxis vs Rental Car
Taxis charge per person per trip. If there are 4 people in your group it will cost about $40 to go one way. If you make several trips per day this is going to add up fast.
Rental cars can be expensive too. Unless you plan to go to some out of the way beach or location, you will not need 4WD vehicle. Get a small car like Toyota Yaris for parties of 2-3 orToyota Camery for parties of 4-5. The roads are very narrow and nobody stays in their lane. I've never rented 4WD vehicle in the last 10 years I've been here and have been fine. Even took the car to St John.
