A lovely park in every season, Confederation Park also boasts baseball diamonds, playgrounds, & waterways for the summer and toboggan hills, skating rinks, and cross-country ski trails for the winter.

A nice park located about 20 minute walk. It has some nice pathways and even a small pond that should have some wildlife at any time of year. It also offers a nice view of the west of the City.
West Campus Drive Northwest

A great view of the City and many hiking trails, especially on the north side. If you are lucky you might see the Police Service train their horses up there.

Canada's newest Science Centre in a generation. Also has a Creative Kids' Museum attached to it and now an outside interpretative playground. Hours are short during the week.

One of the world's best zoos or so I am told. It will be a full-day event to see everything. Sundays are good for brunch but it makes it even harder to get around when full.

Canada's Sports Hall of Fame is located here and there are also interactive rides like bobsledding. The hill is used in summer for mountain biking and is available in winter for skiing.

A pool only 10 minute walk from us. I haven't been in years but there were diving boards and lane swim. There might be kid play times too.

This park has a splash park for the kids to play in (May-Sep.) but also picnic tables hidden away in their wildlands. Great tennis courts for those who are so inclined.

There is a massive toboggan hill at the end of this crescent and only at 15 minute walk or less from the house. The only trouble is getting back up the hill as there are no stairs.

The Bowness Lagoon is being restored to its former glory. It has a canoe & kayak rentals but also paddleboats. There are fire pits, playgrounds and easy access to the river.

You will find picnic tables, fire pits and sheds, all great for outdoor gatherings of any size, nestled in the trees. Follow the pathway and it is an incredible sight seeing tour.

A great family-owned restaurant with a long tradition in Calgary. They specialize in steaks but I have never had a bad meal there. There is also a lounge if you are looking for that.
