Most places do not take reservations. Mainers eat early around 5-6 p.m. Best to go before 5 p.m., or later around 7-8 p.m. Even if you dine at off hours during peak season there may still be a wait.

Go to Seafood Ketch in Bass Harbor for fish and lobster and a nice view of the sunset. My sister was recently there and had a really good meal.

Travelin' Lobster, Inc. is an outdoors lobster pound which gets good reviews. It's is owned by locals who are also lobstermen. I have not been there. On Route 102, just before Hammond Lumber.

Just beyond Hammond Lumber and off on a side road is Atlantic Brewing Company, 15 Knox Road Barbeque is good and not that expensive. Usually there is a band playing on weekends.

Jordan Pond House which is in Acadia is a great place to just sit and have a popover and enjoy the view. Also the wait staff is from all over the world and interesting to talk to.

Had a great experience with Pedego Electric Bikes 55 West St, Bar Harbor. Rented for three hours and travelled to Day Mountain. Sara is a local and owner and also school teacher in town.

The Long Pond Trail is a short ride and has parking. It’s by the pumping station. As you just enter Southwest Harbor, turn right at Echo Beach Rd. (can only go right at strip mall), turn right at the top of the hill, turn right again, and go to end of road. Several trails will connect.
