There is so much to see in Tropea, also known as the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and as well as the crystal-clear sea, pleasant weather, well-equipped beaches and beautiful surroundings that Tropea is known for, there's even more to see and do. The historic town centre of Tropea is definitely one of the first things to see in Italy's most beautiful village, with its beautiful cliffside shops and architecture. Tropea is home to aristocratic palaces from the 1700s and 1800s and houses that overlook Tropea's famous rocky cliff. Also worth visiting is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola which is the structure that dominates the entire town of Tropea, halfway between a Church and a Castle.

Scilla (pronounced sheella) is a stunningly-located fishing village in the Calabria region, in the south of Italy, on the toe of Italy's boot. A rocky spur topped with an ancient fortress separates two narrow strips of seashore hemmed in by steep hillsides. Scilla is squeezed into this restricted and picturesque landscape and it is an unforgettable sight.

The fascinating Grotte degli Sbariati di Zungri or Sbariati Grottos of Zungri lie just outside the historic center. Here, carved out of the natural stone, the ancient settlement of cave houses exudes a graceful tranquility in balance with the surrounding natural environment. https://www.calabriatheotheritaly.com/grottos-of-zungri-calabria/

Inventive spins on typical Calabrian dishes in a mellow space with a terrace offering sunset views. Also recommended for drinks or gelato. https://www.lepietrevolte.com Le Pietre Volte was born in Capo Vaticano, a stone's throw from the sea in the locality of Tonicello, restored and characterized by the classic "vaults" in limestone, completely restored to its ancient beauty by skilled hands and respectful of Calabrian rural architecture. The atmosphere is that of tradition. Strolling through the magnificent garden and the characteristic interiors, it is pleasant to come across the original architecture that still shows the rustic, the well, the mill and many other corners restored to modern splendor.
