Food scene

Our FAVORITE Indian restaurant in the area. The food is fresh, authentic, high quality and it leaves you craving more and more. We can't get enough of goat cheese naan. For vegetarians, butter paneer masala is out of this world. For omnivores, anything goes. They serve traditional mango lassi and also alcoholic cocktails inspired with traditionally Indian spices. A must if you're new to the area.

There are two Chipotles in Chapel Hill and this one is a tad further from us but the food tends to be better quality, again IMHO. We usually order delivery by Chipotle app directly.

Fine dining, good quality food with an excellent bar. Serves excellent homemade gnocchi which is my personal gauge for restaurant quality.

Neighborhoods

We are centrally located to all things Chapel Hill in an older, established neighborhood of Lake Forest. The lots are large and wooded with a good bit of spacing between homes. Neighborhood is very quiet and mostly walkable (particularly around the Eastwood Lake). Whole Foods and Trader Joes are within five minutes by car, as are Food Lion, Harries Teeter and Wegmans. Home styles are a mix of 70’s contemporary, ranch and two-story homes typical of 80's and 90's architecture.

City/town information

Chapel Hill's best kept secret - Carrboro! If you're in town, you shouldn't miss visiting Carrboro. Paris of the Piedmont, hipster mecca, Little Brooklyn (IMHO), whatever it'll speak to you, you must pass through the town and check it out. Funky, artsy, progressive, almost entirely walkable with its own parade of characters, Carrboro is uniquely and fiercely independent of the mass. Weaver Street Market lawn helps faciliate social cohesion; it's the town's social playground for people big and small. Indie coffee shops, tons of restaurants, bars, venues, Carrboro has something for everyone. I loved it for the five years that we lived there until pandemic ruined it all for everyone and we needed a bigger home to survive it. If you need any questions answered on Carrboro, I'll happily oblige.

Chapel Hill Transit System is Free!

You got that right, free to ride! Sadly, pandemic caused them to cut down some services and reduce lines and frequency of trips but the system is still holding up. We're close to the G line if you don't mind a 5-10-min walk to the bus stop at Honeysuckle Rd & Brookview Rd. G will take you downtown to Franklin St, to UNC and to UNC Hospitals.
