Lunch if france is so important and this restaurant always delivers, for around 16 euros per head you have 3 courses and a glass of wine, totally recommend this restaurant

Sightseeing
With its own chateaux which is open to the public and a chocolate factory who’s needs an excuse to visit this place. There are some great restaurants too as well as a little town to explore.

RUFFEC is our nearest town the high street is lovely and there is a big supermarket here too. RUFFEC is on the river Charante and there a few places that you can hire a boat , paddle board or canon the choice is yours.

This is a must see and lots todo from museums shopping and lots of restaurants, in august they race vintage cars through the city and if your up early the market at Victor Hugo is amazing.Angouleme is home to Tintin and the are lots of wall art to find.

Visit the medieval town of confolens enjoy a coffee in the sports bar and watch the world go by. Or if you are feeling energetic go on the vélo rail it’s great fun.

Just the other side of civary this place is great for all the family, it’s the story of the life of Pierre born in 1898 told by the scare crow. It’s very interactive and not far from the valley of the singe another place to visit.

A must do
It’s really inexpensive and such a laugh, you can hire a track vélo which seats up to 5 people,2 of which peddle. The old rail way track takes you though some little villages and at certain points you cross the roads, but it is very safe with barriers etc. At the end of the track is a café so after refreshment you simple turn the vélo around and peddle back. It can all be pre-booked on line and all monies made go towards restauration of the old trains.Top tip if your taking turns peddling opt for the journey back.🚴♂️

We went here with our son,daughter in-law and grandson [5] , despite only living a few k’s away we have never been. On arrival we found a park and picnic area and the Charente river, ideal for paddling or a swim. There is also a restaurant which looks lovely but after a fun packed two hours on the kayaks we were unfortunately to damp to try the restaurant. The kayaking was great fun and several rotes depending on your ability, this was our first time and we have rebooked. A brilliant and fun day out.

Ruffec Canoe-Kayak
We went here with our son,daughter in-law and grandson [5] , despite only living a few k’s away we have never been. On arrival we found a park and picnic area and the Charente river, ideal for paddling or a swim. There is also a restaurant which looks lovely but after a fun packed two hours on the kayaks we were unfortunately to damp to try the restaurant. The kayaking was great fun and several rotes depending on your ability, this was our first time and we have rebooked. A brilliant and fun day out.
If you have kids or not check this place out, zip lines, treehouses and lots of different fun on the river, the staff are helpful and you can get a beer
