A beautiful protected nature reserve on the West Coast. A lovely day trip as it's only about 1.5 hours from Cape Town. The park offers hikes, swimming, bird watching, overnight accommodation and more. One of my favourite places to go for a night away.

You can access the mountain and choose one of a number of hiking trails in the area A popular place to take a picnic, find a shady spot under one of the many beautiful trees and take in the setting.

You can access the mountain and choose one of a number of hiking trails in the area A popular place to take a picnic, find a shady spot under one of the many beautiful trees and take in the setting.
Enjoy the many different hiking routes on Table Mountain and the Twelve Apsotles. The scenery and being immersed in nature is magical.

A very popular hiking destination. A fairly steep walk up to the top but worth it! The views are spectacular. Best to go early in the morning (before it gets too hot) or late afternoon (when it's cooler) and make your way down as the sun starts to set.

A beautiful, very special reserve. The Postberg part of the reserve is open to the public for a short period, over the flower season. They offer various hikes over the flower season. It is possible to go out for the day and do the one day hike (which I have done a few times and highly recommend it). The hike gets booked a few months in advance so you will need to book well ahead. A beautiful, very special reserve. The Postberg part of the reserve is open to the public for a short period, over the flower season. They offer various hikes over the flower season. A beautiful town about 75kms from Cape Town. It is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. Many excellent wine farms in the area , as well as museums, galleries, restaurants and shops. One can easily and happily spend a full day exploring this area.

I've gone to see a number of excellent shows at this intimate theatre. I'd recommend booking for dinner at the theatre before the show. The food is great and it's an overall fabulous experience to combine dinner, drinks and show.

Not only is the architecture of this building magnificent, the exhibitions are very impressive too. The museum also has an excellent gift shop. I'd suggest putting aside a couple of hours to explore the museum, as well as the surrounding area. The Silo hotel is a must visit. Go to the 7th floor for a drink, snack and phenomenal view of Cape Town.
