This cafe is a local favourite. Lovely staff! Amazing friendly dog! Hasn’t been open on weekends due to staff shortages. But if open on Sundays there is often a musician outside in the morning. Also overlooks the end of the park.

Absolutely delicious food is you’re a seafood lover! Happy hour on Sundays and mid week lunch specials. Highly recommend reserving a table on weekends or you might miss out as hugely popular with locals.

Exceptionally popular cafe known by the locals for coffee and pizza. About 10 minutes walk or a 2 minute cycle near Marcoola beach and Marcoola surf club. Call to check evening opening times as staff shortages are causing differences in opening times etc. Recommend calling to check. With the visit! If you do go there on a Saturday or Sunday morning, be prepared to wait for your coffee for about 15 minutes. So don't go there desperate for a caffeine fix. Grab a table and either have a chat or read a magazine or your phone. There is a small playground nearby if you have kids (and someone waits for the team). We have eaten the frittata and quite a few of the other items on the brekkie menu. The food is really great.

Friday night market! This is so relaxed, easy and fun. It's an easy stroll down the boardwalk. Use the torch on your phone to come back because it gets dark walking back in the evening. Marcoola Market is relaxed celebration of food, music and good times. Enjoy the best international flavours and fresh produce at the beachside market in the Sunshine Coast suburb of Marcoola. Every Friday evening from 4pm-8pm, this outdoor food market is the perfect place to grab a bite and relax after a long week. Then on Saturday mornings from 8am-12pm, our local farmers bring the best of the Sunshine Coast's fresh produce to Marcoola for the Farmer's Market.

This is one of the most relaxed surf clubs you've probably ever been to. The locals are absolutely lovely. The food is simple and does the job and the best thing is that it's walking distance from the property - so you don't have to worry about how you're getting home. I have seen whales from sitting down here! It's about a 10 minute walk along the boardwalk (right from the property). Membership is pretty cheap and you get instant discounts on food and drinks. So depending on what type of session you're doing, you might be well worth your while signing up.

So you've forgotten milk / bread/ want a frozen pizza...this is where you should go. IGA is super close - 20 minute walk, 5 minute cycle, or 3 minute car ride. The prices are a little bit higher but the convenience makes up for it. If you look at the pricing, they often have deals, particularly in the deli section.

Mount Coolum is an awe-inspiring volcanic dome that presides over the Sunshine Coast landscape. Climbing to the top of this 25 million year old laccolith is a must-do when visiting the region - the views from the top are absolutely spectacular! The climb Just a tip - only reasonably fit walkers should attempt the climb. Allow 1½ hours for the return walk. It will take 45 minutes to reach the summit and 30 minutes to get back down to the car park. The first part of the track is a pleasant stroll through native bushland and forest. The path then becomes quite steep as it traverses the rock face, so pause for a while to catch your breath and snap a photo of the breathtaking coastal views. Take care when the rocky part of the track towards the top of the mountain - it can be very slippery when wet. Stay on the designated tracks and stay clear of the cliff edges. At 208 metres, the summit of Mount Coolum offers panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast. To the east, coastal views stretch from Double Island Point all the way to Caloundra. The short tracks at the top of the mountain offer the best views to the south and showcase a patchwork of flat cane land, river valleys and the rolling hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. What to bring Make sure you pack your camera to capture the instagram-worthy views you'll discover on your journey to the peak. There are only limited facilities on site (no loos and there are many walkers so go beforehand) so BYO bottled water - climbing can be thirsty work! Wear enclosed shoes as parts of the track can be quite rocky - and of course wear a hat and slip, slop, slap before you set out. Insect repellent is also a good idea, particularly in the warmer months. You'll want to spend some time at the top so be sure to pack a few easy-to-carry snacks to enjoy as you sit back and soak up the amazing 360 degree views from the summit.
